National Energy Board Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Energy Resources Conservation Board

March 31, 2010 - The National Energy Board (NEB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB). The agreement made between the two boards is to establish an understanding that each agency may provide assistance to the other in the event of a pipeline incident where emergency response is needed. The information outlined in the MOU will enhance cooperation and coordination between the agencies and will improve pipeline safety within Canada and the province of Alberta. Moreover, it establishes an agreement for coordinating training and technical liaison that will aid in cooperative efforts if an accident should occur.
