LMCI Action Progress Reports now online
In May 2009 the Board released the Land Matters Consultation Initiative (LMCI) Streams 1, 2 and 4 Final Report and the LMCI Stream 3 Reasons for Decision.
Since then, Board staff has been busy implementing the action plans. To keep interested parties up to date on all the LMCI actions, LMCI updates and Action Progress Reports are now available beginning with the October report. Future reports will be posted on a monthly basis.

Former NEB Chair appointed to the Order of Canada
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, announced on July 1st, 2009 the appointment to the Order of Canada of Roland Priddle, C.M. This award recognizes his leadership role in the energy sector as a consultant at both the national and international levels, specializing in oil industry deregulation and policy development. The NEB wishes to congratulate Mr. Priddle on his appointment.

The NEB released a revised list of Principles that could guide planning for the end state of land post-abandonment. The NEB invites further public comments until 31 March 2009. The NEB intends to provide a final list of principles by the end of May 2009. The final principles will be incorporated into the Guidance Notes of the Onshore Pipeline Regulations, 1999 and will be referenced in the NEB's Filing Manual.
