Export Volumes by Region

Export Volumes by Region
  • Revenue generated by Canadian exports increased by about 5 percent over 2003, to CDN $26.7 billion.
  • The average export price in 2004 was CDN $6.85/GJ, an increase of 2 percent over 2003.
  • Reported Canadian gas exports totaled 3 602 Bcf, an increase of about 3 percent, or 110 Bcf, from 2003.
  • Exports to California and the U.S. Northeast account for the majority of the increase in Canadian exports over 2003.

Reported Canadian gas exports were up, in part due to:

  • lower Canadian end-use demand,
  • lower Canadian storage build up during 2004, due to higher starting levels.
