To: All Group 1 and Group 2 Pipeline Companies
Dear Sir or Madam:
Focus on Safety and Environment Report - Request for 2008 Performance Data
The NEB is requesting that companies voluntarily submit 2008 safety and environmental performance information for the annual Focus on Safety and Environment report.
In 2008, 31 of 104 companies reported on 93% of the pipeline length regulated by the NEB. Participation of these companies was appreciated and it is hoped that more companies will contribute data this year. The data is published in terms of industry averages and trends and does not identify individual companies; however, in addition to producing a report for the benefit of industry, the NEB gains valuable insight into company training, construction activity and operations.
The web based data submission survey means of collecting performance data will be used for the second year in a row therefore no forms need to be submitted. Definitions for the required safety and environment performance data are included in the reporting survey. The survey can be found under the safety section on Safety Performance Indicators.
Please submit the performance data requested to the NEB by 16 November 2009 using the 'Finish' button on the survey. Performance data which is submitted may also be saved for your records by using the 'Save' button on the survey. Any comments or questions regarding the survey can be sent via e-mail to performanceindicators@neb-one.gc.ca.
The NEB wishes to thank companies for contributing performance data and for ensuring the continued success of this initiative. If you require information or have any questions or concerns, please contact Kim Maddin (kim.maddin@neb-one.gc.ca) at 403-299-2763.
Yours truly,
Anne-Marie Erikson
Acting Secretary of the Board
