My name is Claude Rousseau. I worked for the National Energy Board for about 12 years. During that time, I had the opportunity to work on numerous projects, ranging from pipeline engineering to financial regulation to international trade in electricity and hydrocarbons. What this experience gave me was the chance to explore the various aspects of the Board's regulatory framework and responsibilities, both in terms of pipeline safety and energy supply, and equitable treatment of the various interested parties, such as the oil industry, utilities, Canadians, Aboriginal peoples and the full complement of community and consumer agencies and services. Congratulations to the National Energy Board on its 50th anniversary. I'd like to wish the Board and all its employees here today in Ottawa another productive 50 years! Thank you. Congratulations everyone!
