My name is Elizabeth Quarshie, I was a Board Member on the National Energy Board from 1999 until 2006.
My fond memories of the Board started right from the beginning when I joined and the welcoming that I received from all of the Board Members at that time. I believe that one of the best assets of the National Energy Board is the staff members that we have who do a tremendous amount of work for us and who make sure that our programs and our projects carry on in a very seamless manner with very little interruption. But in addition to that our Board Members are most wonderful, particularly when we're doing projects together and when we travel on the road, the camaraderie and experiences shared including the staff together as a project working group, is really what makes the National Energy Board work very, very well.
I enjoyed my time there for the seven years I was there, it was very memorable. I learned a lot, the experiences including of course being able to make some very tough decisions without having all of the information available to you at the time but still being able to render a decision in the public interest. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to express my views and I wish Gaétan and the Vice-Chair and all of the Board Members and the staff a wonderful 50th Anniversary.
Thank you.
