Video Stories - Lori Ann Zaozirny - Transcript

Lori Ann ZaozirnyHi I'm Lori Zaozirny, formerly known as Lori Ann Boychuk and I was with the National Energy Board from 1992, March 1992, at a hearing at Westcoast tolls in Vancouver until October of 2003 when I left the lovely city of Calgary to move to Vancouver to become a Commissioner of the British Columbia Utilities Commission thanks to my background at the National Energy Board.

I had a wonderful time at the Board. I worked with some absolutely fabulous people and had an opportunity to, to see some great counsel who appeared before the Board. The work was great, I, I enjoyed working in the, in the, the North, the frontier area very much, that was kind of a unique area in, in at the Board the north of 60 and the offshore work and being a pipeline lawyer for many years it was something that I, I certainly didn't expect to, to be when I was in law school. If someone had told me I was going to be a pipeline lawyer I'm not sure I would've, I'm not sure that I would've followed that direction, but I'm very, very glad I did. The people in the law branch were terrific, excellent leadership under Judith Snyder and Judith Hanebury, they gave me very many opportunities, good opportunities to do interesting and, and fun work and the, the individuals that I worked with in law branch and throughout the Board were simply fabulous.

Again I have many wonderful memories of the Board, and too few to mention in this very short interview, but I do want to wish the, the current Board Members and staff a wonderful and, and happy, happy birthday, happy 50thbirthday.
