Stream 3: Pipeline Abandonment - Financial Issues (RH-2-2008)

Land Matters Consultation InitiativeAs part of the overall look at Land Matters, the NEB held a hearing in January 2009 to address the following key issue related to the financial aspects of abandonment:

  • What is the optimal way to ensure that funds are available when abandonment costs are incurred?

In May 2009, the Board published Reasons for Decision RH-2-2008 [Filing A21835], laying out principles and a 10 step Action Plan covering the next 60-months. Stream 3 Progress reports track actions in the RH-2-2008 Plan.
