GX Technology Canada Ltd. (GXT) has submitted a Project Description to the National Energy Board (NEB), and proposes to conduct a 2-D marine seismic survey in the western Canadian Beaufort Sea. The survey would be in an area within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR), and take place between July and November 2010.

The proposed survey is in the Beaufort Sea, ranging from longitude 141o 00.0' W on the west, 138o 41.1' W on the east, and northward to 71o 59.6' N, in waters seaward of the 20 m bathymetric contour extending to depths of 2,500 m. A total of up to 760 line-km of survey is planned, using a recording survey ship towing a streamer and source array, accompanied by an ice-breaker.

The duration planned for the survey is approximately 7 days. The activities involved with the project would include 2-D seismic surveying, scouting and associated re-supply activities.
